No "Jose" No

Depending how much you believe the Daily Mail(not much), they have been speculating recently on the future of one of the shinning stars of the Newcastle squad this season.

(Jose Enrique)

There are reports today that he has reveled that he would be up for leaving the tyneside club in order to persue trophies elsewere.
We of course hope this is not true, Jose has been an absolute hero for Newcastle this season ans we would be devestated to loose him.

It may be the case though that this is just the player using his importance to give the owner a bit of a push into splashinf the cash this summer, as is the case we hope with Joey Barton, who has put off signing his new contract untill he is certain the team is invested in....

So the message is, SPLASH THE CASH ASHLEY, or you just might loose your prized assets.....

What do you think....

Newcastle United sink sorry Brumies

Newcastle United took a giant leap towards safety tonight with an excellent performance against an in form Birmingham side.

Tonight our lads showed we have what it takes to not only stay in this league but also we can once again become a premier league force.

In difficult conditions United took an important early lead , when after 90 seconds Peter Lovencrands latched onto a great cross from Jonas Gutierrez, this stunned the home crowd into silence as newcastle looked to build on thier excellent start with Keven Nolan and Joey Barton causing trouble around the Birmingham Penalty area,

The home side did eventually start to build some momentum, all be it through long balls to Zigic who was well marshalled all evening by Colo and Williamson.

Newcastle sat back for much of the second have but Steve Harper had only one save of real note to make.

5 mins of injury time were added to the end of the firdt half as a result of Colo and Tiote clashing heads when both had only eyes for the ball.

The second half started in much the same way as the first with another sublime cross from the ever dangerous Jonas, met by Leon Best at the back post to double the magpies lead.

Newcastle then went on to dominate much of the second period with Birmingham confined to only 2 real chances at goal.

All in all it was an excellent performance and result for Newcastle, only the 3rd team to leave St Andrews with 3 points this season, the win also lifts us tp 9th position in the Premier league and also 8 points clear of the relegation zone, both strikers on the score sheet tonight is also a huge boost ahead of our next 2 games.

Another clean sheet and solid away performace tonight with 2 winable home games against Bolton and Everton to come, that top 8 finish that pardew is aiming for is looking more and more attainable..

HOWAY THE LADS...
